Fruitways Farming

Fruitways Farming

Fruitways has three world class production units, namely Graymead, Eikenhof and Applegarth. Eikenhof is the original Moodie family farm in Elgin and has 200ha of apples and pears and 20ha of vines. Graymead, in Vyeboom next to the Theewaterskloof Dam, has a total of 360ha of apples and pears.  Applegarth is neighbouring Eikenhof Farm in Elgin and has 160ha of apples and pears.

Apart from older, more traditional plantings such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smith and Top Red we also have newer varieties such as Royal Gala, Braeburn, Fuji, Pink Lady and Sundowner.

Pear varieties include Bon Chretien, Packham’s Triumph, Forelle and Abate Fetel. We are very excited about new plantings of Kanzi apples and a number of other new varieties are on trial in a trial block on Graymead.

Fruitways Farming employs 200 permanent staff and up to 750 people on the farms during picking season. The head office of Fruitways Farming is on Graymead Farm in Vyeboom.
