Fruitways Farming

Fruitways have five production units, namely Applegarth, Eikenhof, Glen Elgin North, Glen Elgin South and Graymead.  We also lease and manage Jackal River farm on behalf of an independent owner.  Eikenhof is the original Moodie family farm in Elgin.  Glen Elgin is the original Molteno Brothers family farm, neighbouring Eikenhof and Applegarth in Elgin.  The seven production units combined produce 60,000t of fruit from 1200ha.

Apart from older, more traditional plantings such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smith and Top Red we also have newer varieties such as Royal Gala, Braeburn, Kanzi, Fuji, Pink Lady and Sundowner.

Pear varieties include Bon Chretien, Packham’s Triumph, Forelle and Abate Fetel. A number of other new varieties are on trial in our R&D orchard on Graymead. 

Fruitways Farming employs 1300 people on the farms during peak season. The main administration office of Fruitways Farming is Glen Elgin.
